Follow option does not work

Although tracking is marked, I only receive an email alert if someone mentions my name.

Scroll down farther in the settings to configure notification settings.

"When a new reply is posted in a topic you are watching" - set that to email

So on a topic you create or a topic you reply to, are you receiving notifications at all? Or is it just that you aren't receiving emails? Do you receive emails for other things?

Sure, topics I produce I get email but only if someone mentions me or quotes or gives likes.

1. On a topic you create or reply to, do you see the following at the bottom on the topic?
   
2. On topics that are in the Watching state, do you get forum notifications (with or without an accompanying email) when there is a reply without a mention of your user?

1. No, it is always marked 'not watching', although in the settings it is marked that all topics will be 'watching'.
2. Yes.
   I want the default to be for all my users that all topics will be in 'watching' mode.

Ah I think I see what's going wrong. The settings you are showing in your screenshot are in the ACP. I bet the settings for your specific user are different. The settings in the ACP only apply to newly created users.

It should look like this:

And double check the email notification setting in your user settings as well.

Exactly this description I brought right in the opening of the subject,
And maybe you meant it, Default settings for alert?
And also in this place is marked to receive alerts.
