I always find it difficult to find which all smilies are available. It would be nice if there is a smilies icon alongside " add image " icon.

If you are using the emoji plugins then there are a lot to be listed. You could list the basic most common images.
They also show in a drop down menu so if know the start then you can scroll to what you need so if you type :ton then the menu opens with the option to place tongue image.

Think about me. I had no idea such a smilies existed. When I type : I get a drop down list of emoticons (good thing), but only first 3 smilies are visible. Since the reply box is fixed, even scrolling doesn't help. We need to be idiot proof. I guess emoji plug in is not installed here.

How about a "Help" tab in the composer? I've been meaning to get around to doing that...

Nice Idea. But I still vote for a smiley icon as well. It can either open a pop up window or list on the bottom side of editor as in Xenforo.
