Gallery system

Can someone make a gallery system?
Thank you

Thats not what I want. I want a dedicated page for images. A page where members can post images and such. Like photopost.

@MatthewHawley Key thing to remember is that this is forum software, not a social network. A lot of admins forget this when they start forums, and it's sad.
Really, just having a category set aside for posting image threads should be good enough, coupled with the lightbox plugin that Julian linked to. You'll be encouraging discussion while keeping the site a forum and not a social network.
It would be nice to have image previews in the category view though.

Technically you can. There's an option in the ACP to upload topic images. They're strangely implemented at the minute. They appear in place of the avatar.
Editing this portion of the template would let you change how it appears. Same in categories.tpl.

I'm glad that I am not the only one that wants this feature. The lack of a plugin like this is why I haven't moved to nodebb. I manage a number of forums (photography, shooting sports, video games) and all of them have a gallery feature which my users rely on heavily.
I realize that this if forum software and not a "social network" or a true CMS. Which is fine if you are really only dealing with text.
I wold tackle this plugin myself if I knew more about node, JS, etc. One of these days I'll have to sit down and learn it all.
@MatthewHawley maybe someday eh?

I'm planning on doing something like this (not this) for my own and see if I release it as a plugin. What I'm planning to do is based on existing gallery service and APIs (imgur and photobucket). I don't plan on a local gallery which is what you seems to be referencing since I don't want users to upload files on my server.
However it's not defined yet but let me know if you're interested. -
@esiao You've peaked my curiosity. Can you be a little more specific on how that would be used?

I think what he's doing is basically having the original post as what you would get on imgur, with the image, and a small description, maybe a number of other posts etc etc. Then the other posts after would be comments on that. Would probably be more than just a plugin change, but seems like an interesting idea.

That would be cool. Especially so if there were different configurable categories.
