Hello Everyone !

Today we are releasing NodeBB 3.11.0. Please read below for all the changes in this release.

Custom User Fields ️

3.11.0 adds support for custom user fields. NodeBB had a default list of profile fields that users can fill out but adding more required a custom theme and/or a plugin. With 3.11.0 it is possible to add more fields in the admin page at /admin/manage/users/custom-fields. Here is how the admin page looks:

There are 6 types of inputs to choose from (text, link, number, date, select & multi-select). You can also choose an icon and set a minimum reputation to control which users can add the fields.

The custom fields are displayed on the user edit profile page and fields that are used are displayed on the profile page along side other fields.

When exporting users as CSV you can also include these custom user fields in the output.

With this release we removed the hardcoded website and location fields and moved them to the custom fields, an upgrade script will take care of creating them.

Multiple Post Editors

We've added an option into the post tools menu to allow post owners and admins/mods to allow other users to edit the post. This allows wiki like posts where multiple users can edit the same post.

Template refactoring

As part of ongoing efforts to reduce duplicated templates, we moved the flags list and details pages into core, persona and harmony themes no longer have these files. Persona and Peace theme also had some refactoring to reduce custom css and use more bootstrap utility classes.
