I was raised in a christian dominionist home. Many of my family were "all in" on the entire conservative life to the point that some believed that the John Birch Society was a communist plot to register people that the government could round up.These groups are led by white men. No doubt about that. They are led, championed, and promoted by white men... who were put there by white women. Women in my church, and in others I visited far outnumbered the men.White men may lead the christo-fascist right, speak at rallies, put their names on banners- but white women run it. They staff it. They support the men who do the things they do. White women who are into this are neither stupid nor uneducated. They empower and found these systems as a means of insulating and protecting themselves from everything they are afraid of. And they are oh so happy to have their men take the blame and the risk to maintain their way of life.Doubt me? Maybe you've never been in that life. Find a hyper conservative church near you, and park across the street on a Sunday. See how the women are treated, protected, and supported. Then consider that these women not only support, but encourage men saying things like "Your body, my choice.". They encourage this because these women view transgressing women as a threat to their way of life.
