@dunlix (and others) Thanks, the disable plugins suggestion worked. Apparently it was the "sanitize html" plugging that was causing the problem. Not even sure why we had that still installed. Thanks all for the troubleshooting help!

I've read this and this and I've validated my config.json url property is correct (that URL, if pasted into a browser properly reverse proxies through Apache to nodebb) Is there some other setting that could be affecting that?

Yes it should be no problem. It used to be that this wasn't possible but now it should just work.

oof... maybe, but not yet, I don't think. We can use LESS insomuch that what is entered is parsed back out into CSS, but because we don't rerun "variables.less" from bootstrap, then you can't really use variables. I'd recommend opening up an issue in our bug tracker so we can get this in if it's something you want

Nope that upgrade can be run multiple times without side effects.

@Eric-Ladner No, it doesn't upgrade the plugins... or I should say, it didn't used to. More recent versions of NodeBB call ./nodebb upgradePlugins as part of the upgrade process, and that will upgrade plugins (to whatever version nbbpm says they should be upgraded to)... However, those plugins that aren't registered with nbbpm won't be touched by ./nodebb upgradePlugins.

I actually went through a similar issue when migrating my forum, check this note out about how I fixed it: https://github.com/bdharrington7/nodebb-plugin-import-vanilla#other-custom-transformations Basically you'd just have to run a custom regex find / replace to strip out those bits you don't want.
