Kinda depends on which php forum. MongoDB uses more ram than mysql. I can definitely run MyBB lighter than Nodebb on my hosting. I believe that IPB and VBulletin don't run well on shared hosting, so I'd put them about matched with NodeBB in usage. Of course, its been so long since i tried running either of those i could be full of crap.

You could do something like this. Also, there's no way to get the category background.

@julian I checked a couple different forum softwares, and all of them were purely cosmetic. A few of them had privileges settings that propagated to their children, but this was completely unnecessary and just a shortcut for assigning to each child.

If your site contains a lot of user data such as images you may want to consider using a plugin that would offload that content to a 3rd party provider such as Imgur or Amazon S3. Plugins exist for NodeBB for both of those services.

Error suggests MongoDB authentication is incorrect. If you don't have a MongoDB password, don't specify one during setup. If you do have one, specify it during setup.
