I don't think we have anything quite so fully featured at the moment, although the NodeBB team could always build it out for you We routinely accept commissions for third party plugins and such.

Hey just wanted to say "thanks" to @a_5mith for creating the SMF importer/exporter thing! Haven't tried it out yet but it's nice to see that it exists (even if you do have to upgrade in a roundabout way). Also adding these terms to the thread so that people can find it when searching (turns out nobody said "SimpleMachines" or "Simple Machines", just SMF).

Well, I'm not sold on imgur, but I currently have an SMF forum with an embedded gallery function that I would need replace in some way. I need my users to be able to upload pics somewhere to be able to embed in the forum, but it would also be nice to be able to browse through the uploaded pics. Is there another way to accomplish this with NodeBB?

Hey buddy, former SMF user myself. I built a converter to export your posts from SMF, you can find it here, it's not a one step process, but it works. There's currently no gallery plugin though at the minute.
