Thanks! It shouldn't be too hard to spin up SMF on my test system and import the DB into that to get started. At least I can work out the process from there.

Is the import tool supported on 0.9.3? Or will that be coming soon?

I got a test NodeBB setup and I'm going to try the gallery plugin next. Except, I think I just determined that the lightbox gallery plugin is not a full gallery, with management to go along with it. Is that correct?

I was previously running on SMF with the Menalto Gallery. This gave me folders, user galleries, and admin functions for the gallery side. Anything like that for NodeBB?

Per the last comment here, I have a similar question. Is it possible to import from a SQL dump? Or is the DB connection required?

If the live DB connection is required, can I run the importer against SMF without affecting SMF? In other words, I'd like to be able to continue operating on SMF while I sort out configuration issues in NodeBB, but I'd like to do it with actual data. I'm not talking about live data in NodeBB, just the full historical DB.

I'm having a little bit of a struggle with this because I installed the importer plugin in a fresh 0.9.3 NodeBB system to see what it all looks like. Then I saw that it's not supported. I'm guessing the interface isn't present for me for that reason.

Well, I'm not sold on imgur, but I currently have an SMF forum with an embedded gallery function that I would need replace in some way. I need my users to be able to upload pics somewhere to be able to embed in the forum, but it would also be nice to be able to browse through the uploaded pics. Is there another way to accomplish this with NodeBB?

Looking for alternatives to SMF and NodeBB looks pretty cool. I have a couple of features I would have to support. Obviously, migration from SMF is one. Before I can consider that, I need to have an image gallery solution that integrates with the forum. I need something that can associate users with specific albums and allow them to have some control of what gets posted. On SMF I'm using an integration with G2 right now. Anything like that for NodeBB? I'm not finding it if there is.
