I have more in common with my pet lizard than I do with a "virtual employee".Of course, I also admire art and experience literature. But that is not relevant to survival if the owning class destroys my livelihood - and those are also things the AI industry means to destroy.

@abucci I said yesterday that to me, the two most important issues right now are avoiding World War III and mitigating climate disaster - and that's why I'm watching the current US election with horror.I don't think Harris would "fix climate disaster" or "stop World War III", because those are things that aren't within a US president's powers, whoever that may be.I'm worried about Trump, because exacerbating climate disaster or the risk of World War III *is* within a US president's power.

Billionaires shouldn't exist at all, and any society that creates billionaires is a broken society.That said: Aside from avoiding their products and platforms to the best of my ability, involving myself as much in the public debate as is sensible and voting for the left, I'm not sure how much meaningful action there is to do at this point - particularly for someone living in what is functionally a vassal state.
