@newstik the challenge is how "better" is defined - a lot of people use email in ways that are different I think than I do - and some have features that replicate ones I already use extensively in gmail (and/or don't work well with gmail's eh "quirks" - Thunderbird has an entire FAQ page about the unique interactions with gmail). For example I have 100's of filters in gmail - while I probably need to and should edit them I'm reluctant to then layer on a different set of filters in another app
