I'm not sure how to frame this question, but I've been thinking about senses of either ownership or belonging in social media. (And this is largely from the perspective of an English speaker, too).

For example, early on in Facebook's history, I saw many people say "my Facebook." (Not "my Facebook account.")
Later, with Twitter/X and TikTok, I see people say, "my algorithm."
Is there a "my" on the fediverse? If so, is it the instance? Account? Stream/feed?
boosts/comments appreciated

@rwg i really don't think in those terms

@FinalOverdrive Yeah, I imagine many people don't. Not everyone said "my Facebook" or "my algorithm." I'm just curious about cases on the fedi where someone might use "my ____" in relation to their social media practices.

@eri in that case, "my/our instance" is much more of a claim to ownership than "my Facebook" was!

@rwg
Also, "your." I recall a lot of "your Facebook" "your feed."I think of it as my or our instance.

@ton yeah, that's true. As in "I saw on your Facebook that..."
