When U keep telling a client to stop talking about giving government officials "payola", because that word doesn't mean what they think it does, then they want you to help when they get in trouble for going on some rant about how they'd be willing to bribe people to break some inconvenient regulation, and it's like, "Buddy, I gave you all the help I could, what you need is a lawyer and a therapist."

I swear though, I had to put a stipulation in my contract that I'm not liable for anything I didn't tell you to do and that you can't blame me for what happens if you don't listen to me. These people will hire you to stand there telling them not to make bad decisions while they do it anyway, and the worst ones are the ones who send messages in text asking about legal issues when 1) I am not a lawyer, 2) you're implicating yourself if you ever get investigated, and 3) explanations of the laws are easy to find and read. No, don't tell me about the personal life of your former business partner and how you're going to "ruin him" for it, shut up and finish your lawsuit quietly.
I miss being able to work, but if there's one thing I don't miss, it's the frustration of people who don't listen to the expert they hired.
Don't be these people.
