@nyquildotorg I’m still sad about how WebOS ended up. At the time, it looked great, and had some really unique ideas that Android just didn’t have.
That was kind of Palm’s last attempt to make a phone platform of their own.
-
@nyquildotorg Me too.
-
@deadsuperhero now it lives on my TV where I wish it didn't have any OS at all. WebOS deserved better
-
@nyquildotorg I kind of feel the same way about FirefoxOS, Meego, and Tizen. Interesting ideas over the years, never really went anywhere other than embedded systems or obscure feature phones.
-
@deadsuperhero did you ever get to use BB10? I had a lot of fun with that, too.
-
@deadsuperhero app dev company I used to work for supported Bada, so that was interesting to play with as well. But I actually carried webOS and BB10 devices for a while and liked a lot about both of them
-
@deadsuperhero I had Ubuntu Mobile (or whatever they called it) on a device for a while, as well as FirefoxOS. These days, with a platform like that and a browser that supported PWAs would probably be my preferred type of device.

@nyquildotorg Yeah, you’re preaching to the choir. Android has always felt a bit clunky, though most of that has to do with how Google designs things nowadays.
I still have some hope regarding postmarketOS and similar efforts. Phosh seems really promising, and I know Plasma is doing something similar. Would really love to see this take off more.
