@emsquared There's no argument that can be deployed to change these people. So I don't bother. But the Oxford Mail loves those sweet advertising clicks I guess so gives them a platform.

@BackFromTheDud @keefeglise "I have not been to Oxford Town" (very 90s Bowie). I have though. Is the shark in the roof still there?
-
@keefeglise Modern life. It ain't all Country Life magazine (is that even still around?).
-
@keefeglise @BackFromTheDud Used to live nearer to Cambridge. It wasn't a good day out unless you saw yet another car impaled on those bus only posts that they tried to bypass as the busses lowered them.
-
@emsquared @BackFromTheDud In fact David's memory was not the best. Because he famously visited Oxford Town Hall in 1972 and was very rude indeed.
-
@keefeglise @BackFromTheDud Coccaine tends to do that to your memory. Naughty Mr B. I'm outraged.

@emsquared won't be written by humans either...

@3dcandy probably not these days.
-
@emsquared deffo not probably. Seen the last of my "copywriter" friends lose their job yesterday. All replaced by AI. Reports that in the UK alone AI has caused circa 55000 jobs to go this year already. When I watch a TV programme on streaming services and 90% of the ads mention AI you know it ain't gonna end well
-
@3dcandy I saw a story about some film maker who said he was only going to use AI to make his film soundtracks from now on. Only glanced at the story so he was probably more aspiring than established but yeah, thin end of the wedge eh.
-
@emsquared Oh I have seen that music gear prices has dropped loads as people aren't buying any longer as they believe that AI will replace them. The industry is flat. A load of mates have said that the flurry of big name artists are announcing tours, like Kylie, Oasis etc. as they believe it is a final hurrah before the market simply disappears
-
@3dcandy Probably true and the elder artists selling off their catalogue to the majors as a lump sum pension instead of dwindling copyright payments.
-
@emsquared exactly that.... scary times ahead
