@emsquared Are you lucky enough to get adverts for straight bananas, electric forks and the like?
-

@JackTheCat straight bananas? Lol. Is that an actual thing. I know an awful lot of people "can't believe how good" this or that product is that is a fraction of the price of a well known alternative.
-
@kathimmel and written as news.

@emsquared It's frustrating. I'm desperately trying to reduce my online presence as much as possible for these vacuous reasons alone.
-
@emsquared Made the mistake of looking at the comments under the Oxford Mail's coverage of the floods yesterday. Immigration has a lot to answer for apparently.
-
@keefeglise "Floods caused by Gay Immigrants Using Public Transport On Benefits USING 5G!!" @emsquared
-
@BackFromTheDud @emsquared This being Oxford you also need to blame bus gates.
-
@keefeglise Ah comments. Why that became a thing I don't know. Deny the facts we just told you or backup the lies we just cheerfully amplified.
-
@keefeglise I don't recall ever going to Oxford, so either I've not been there, or I HAVE been and my mind has just erased the experience. @emsquared

@JackTheCat Yeah. Got round to reading "how to do nothing" which is a bit essayist in places but yeah most of it is not good for our health (especially if you care about the seeming direction of travel of things in general).
-
@emsquared There's no argument that can be deployed to change these people. So I don't bother. But the Oxford Mail loves those sweet advertising clicks I guess so gives them a platform.

@BackFromTheDud @keefeglise "I have not been to Oxford Town" (very 90s Bowie). I have though. Is the shark in the roof still there?
-
@keefeglise Modern life. It ain't all Country Life magazine (is that even still around?).
-
@keefeglise @BackFromTheDud Used to live nearer to Cambridge. It wasn't a good day out unless you saw yet another car impaled on those bus only posts that they tried to bypass as the busses lowered them.
-
@emsquared @BackFromTheDud In fact David's memory was not the best. Because he famously visited Oxford Town Hall in 1972 and was very rude indeed.
-
@keefeglise @BackFromTheDud Coccaine tends to do that to your memory. Naughty Mr B. I'm outraged.

@emsquared won't be written by humans either...
