She waited until after he was murdered, couldn't even mention his name, and her party no longer support the abolition of the death penalty. What a hero.

@fkamiah17 @BigTittyBimbo This is true, but somewhat misleading. Whether or not they have something in their campaign platform doesn't mean it is the universal policy, just that they don't want to make it central to what they're running on.
Keep in mind, Trump pushed the Overton window on violence in the government, and renormalizing executions was part of that. He has always been a strong proponent of the death penalty, especially for black people.
We can be critical and ask all these questions, but the Democrats aren't suddenly pro death penalty simply because they haven't put "abolish the death penalty" in the several page document with all the environmental, social, economic, and democracy-expanding policies.

So let's ask the very critical question here: do you think that Kamala Harris will execute people if she's elected to office? Because that would be a reversal from every previous Democrat president who is still alive, including Biden, and would probably piss off most of her own party, considering if you go look at individual Democrats they are all against the death penalty.I don't know why they removed it from the platform, but it's unlikely that it's because they are suddenly pro-death-penalty. It's more likely they just chose not to focus on that.
Meanwhile, this article is even talking about the Central Park 5 and how Trump spent millions of dollars on printing ads using them as an example of why he wanted to bring back the death penalty, when he wasn't even in government. Trump has always wanted to expand the death penalty, especially for black people, hence why he rushed to execute 12 people in his last year in office.

@Raccoon @BigTittyBimbo You're spending a whole lot of time trying to have an argument about something I didn't actually say.

You said they are no longer opposed to the death penalty. Is there some Middle ground here that you're trying to say they're on?Like, I'm reading this as, if they took control of the House and Senate, and Ocasio Cortez put forward a bill to abolish the death penalty, you seem to think less than 90% of Democrats would vote for that, or that party leadership would not try to pass that, or that Kamala Harris wouldn't endorse and sign it.
But maybe I'm misunderstanding.
What do you mean here?

Because I don't understand what you're trying to say. What you're trying to say looks like you don't think Ocasio Cortez is actually against the death penalty, or that the Democrats are somehow not against it anymore. You seem to have a complaint about it and I'm not sure where it's coming from.

@Raccoon @BigTittyBimbo I said (or rather the article and headline I posted) that they'd removed it from their platform. No more, no less. I said it three separate times. I don't know why you're still talking tbh.

And I'm saying that doesn't mean they don't support abolition of the death penalty, which was your original statement. That's why I'm so confused.
