Whoa. That was very very soon after his most recent cancer diagnosis. Very sad. I do believe he was a good man. I met him a few times and even shared a breakfast at the same table at a conference one year before he was Premier.
Though I disagreed with some of his decisions as Premier, he set the province up to gain at least some of what was lost after 15 years of BC Liberal rule.
He was a hilarious speaker at times.
Condolences to his family and friends.

One of my absolute favourite memories as a City Councillor was in Whistler at the UBCM conference September 2018. I was walking to the dinner with my friend and colleague Sharie Minions, both of us in our dinner atire.
Coming in the other direction was then-Premier Horgan and staffers. As we passed on the narrow street, he pointed at me and exclaimed:
BOW TIES ARE COOL!!!
He was a trekkie and Dr. Who fan.
I believe I was wearing my polka dot bow tie.
Thank you Mr. Horgan. #RIP

He was great. I got a chance to sit in on a couple Cabinet meetings and he had this ability to lead and command the room while still allowing ministers to squabble for a bit, keep the humour up, but then be decicive on decisions. He was genuinely interested in natural resource issues and let the experts (me included) speak to it even if way down in the beuacracy. Super personable, you couldn't help but like him.
