"I wonder what's going to happen at the presidential debate on Tuesday?"
No. No you don't.
Future president Kamala Harris is a Howard grad, lawyer, successful prosecutor, attorney general, Vice President, Black and Indian woman, who has had to be twice as good and twice as prepared for only half the reward her whole life. And he... babbles incoherently.
You already know what's going to happen.
And you also know it won't matter.️
His base will stick with him. Last exit was a few miles back.

@mekkaokereke that's a good metaphor tbh.

I sure hope Mekka is correct about Kamala Harris being the future president. If not, I will be prepared to emigrate.There was a news article a few days ago about Trump's advantage with white voters, even among college-educated white voters. Observing the USA for the last several years, I can only conclude that we remain a highly racist country. Kamala Harris had far fewer white speakers and performers at her DNC than Barack Obama had at his convention in 2008 and that worries me. I think some white voters who may not recognize their own racism, and may not show blatant signs of racism in their public behaviors, are going to be uncomfortable voting for a black woman whose buddies are also black. White voters accepted Barack Obama partly because he mostly hung with white dudes. So, I think it will be interesting and perhaps disappointing to see how whites vote in the presidential election. I sure hope my worries are unfounded.

@JosephMeyer @hannu_ikonen @mekkaokereke almost no one who isn’t an active and highly engaged Democrat watched both every moment of this year’s DNC and every moment of Obama’s. Disengaged independents or split ballot voters likely only saw clips on the evening news (or in social media - but they likely don’t follow active political reporters online) So they saw a very white midwestern vet, former congressman, current Governor, football coach and teacher on the ticket and probably feel comforted

@JosephMeyer @hannu_ikonen @mekkaokereke this election, as usual, will be decided by turnout. And turnout is a product of enthusiasm and voter suppression.
We know how white people will vote. We did it in 2016, and again in 2020. It barely changed. If it changes this time, and that's a big if, it will be from more gen z becoming eligible to vote. Definitely not based on who spoke at the DNC.
