@stefan Curious about what the permissions required are. "Read only" ... of what?
(I know the confirmation feedback is an interface limitation, not something under your control)

I know the latest Mastodon has even more limited scope, but I haven't had a chance to look at that.

(Minor additional suggestion: since the list of common instances is public, autocomplete for the the home domain is a pretty common pattern - might be a nice add, if you still feel like tinkering!) -
