Question for #Mastodon users.

@petersuber you can export lists as a CSV file (I think) and then share that file which can then be imported. I don't know if there is a less clunky way to do it

@Ruth_Mottram
Thanks, Ruth. I have five lists and only one of them will be relevant to my professional colleagues. But it seems that I can only export all five at once. I know I could manually edit the CSV file. But do you happen to know a way to export just one list? -

@petersuber not unless you make a post about them, in which case they might get spammed with notifications.️
Mastodon doesn't have an easy way to do this.

Masto doesn't have option is export lists to csv or whatever and share that way @[email protected] ? @[email protected] #auspol
-
@ozzy @petersuber they could share their entire following list csv, but that would force any importers to follow everyone he's following, not just a specific subset of users.️

@petersuber @Ruth_Mottram This would be a great function/feature, to promote fediverse but also to promote favorite authors. I found this: https://followlists.online/ but I can't tell whether it's useful and secure. Anyone else tried?

@[email protected] @[email protected] its been awhile since I've used mastodon.
On Sharkey you can export and import lists -
@ozzy @petersuber same...but it would, again, be all lists and not just 1.

@sfmatheson @petersuber @Ruth_Mottram a tool I use is https://www.mastodonlistmanager.org which allows you to export individual lists, and also to manage them for yourself a bit more easily.

Really cool, thanks. Tested it and it's easy to add or remove accounts from my lists. https://www.mastodonlistmanager.org/managerBut if I wanted to give a colleague a list of a particular interest, my colleague would need to follow the accounts first. So giving her a CSV-file for her import is still necessary.
And once she imported the following-list, she can also import a special list of mine as CSV.But someone here also said it's easy to share followed hashtags? How?
Would have loved to know a way for accessing followed hashtags for export and import when I moved to a new instance. Setting up the multi-column deck again with followed hashtags was a pain as I needed to first, manually write them down, then after the move, manually follow them, before I could add them to the columns. -

Thanks for these details on the list tool. I just tried it and like it for other reasons. We still need an easy way to share lists without exporting/importing CSV files.I'm the one who said it's easy to share followed tags. When I saw that Masto didn't track these for me, I kept an offline list from the start. Now I can share that list (in plain text, in the body of an email). But I'm noticing that some Android Masto apps keep this list for you.

@petersuber @anlomedad @sfmatheson @Ruth_Mottram "easy to share followed tags. When I saw that Masto didn't track these for me..." - I think these are a bit buried in the UI, personally. To find them on web, go to your profile page, click [...] next to edit profile -> Follow hashtags & the same option is in the 3 line "burger menu" by your profile info top left under the search bar.
