VOTE EARLY

VOTE EARLY
Simon Rosenberg says that something you can do to help Harris/Walz and Dem candidates up and down the ticket is to vote as early as is possible for you. Depending on your state, this might be in-person early voting or vote by mail. Why? a thread (1/3)

1. Every day while voting is open, the campaigns get lists of who has voted. If you're on the first-day list, they never have to spend time and resources calling you. The more people vote early, the more the campaigns can work down their lists to less likely voters and turn them out -- so more Dems vote! (Also -- my point not Simon's -- you don't have to deal with a zillion political phone calls to get you out to vote. Yay!) (2/3)

2. Hearing news reports of enormous early-voting turnout motivates other people to vote.
3. The higher the proportion of votes are early votes, the less chance MAGA efforts to subvert the vote have of succeeding. For example, if 70% of voters have already voted early or by mail, election-day intimidation efforts will have much-reduced effect. (3/3)
