akkoma allows its admin to define "bubble instances" - instances you feel like are part of your local neighborhood of instances - and uses that to create a bubble timeline and that's neat. (my bubble timeline is currently only retro.social and linernotes.club but that works out really nicely for me honestly. that's a great bubble.)
