"Elon Musk poses a clear and present danger to American national security. The sooner the U.S. government revokes his security clearance, terminates its contracts with him and the entities he controls, and builds our own alternatives to Starlink and Space X, the safer we will be."
~ Robert Reich
How Musk threatens America’s national security, and what must be done
His incitement to assassinate America’s commander-in-chief is only the most recent illustration

@SDParris I do, too. Couldn't happen fast enough to suit me.

I think Starlink could be the "Facebook" of the ISP. The power of that kind of infrastructure is immeasurable.
And remember, like any good mobster, the first dose is always free.

@wdlindsy If we stop using SpaceX we have no ability to get a rocket into space. How many times does Reich have to be told this?

@Tool67 How many, indeed. And how long does it take the government that gives him contracts to become aware of the threat he poses?
Sarcasm alert.

@wdlindsy You don’t need to build alternatives to Starlink and SpaceX, you just need to nationalise them.
And then we can stop polluting Low Earth Orbit! -

@KimSJ As a first step and a realistic one, I'd be in favor — as Robert Reich proposes — of the US government cancelling its contracts with Elon Musk.

@wdlindsy I don’t understand how the US government was ignorant to his fascism and gave him such power. Average citizens saw him for who he is because he has been telling us forever.

@Beachbum He kept being sold by major media outlets as "innovative" and "brilliant" and "complex." As recently as three or four years back, the shameful New York Times could pretend that his fascist ideas were "complex" and not what they are: fascism. The problem is, rich men keep being regarded that way — as heroes — by the rest of society, especially if they're white.
