The language in this is critical: they're deporting U.S. citizens who are "dangerous criminals." And, with our fascist government referring to trans people as "pedophiles" who "indoctrinate" or "groom" children...

We may very well be a single executive order away from the ongoing deportations including the trans community.

Make no mistake, this too is genocide. A friend of mine has to bring food to friends who were imprisoned there. There isn't a guarantee of a meal, which is likely why it's El Salvador of all places. They don't even have to kill us themselves.

If this is their plan, now is the time to act fast. Deporting U.S. citizens is illegal, but they've made it clear many times over that they will keep crossing those lines.

This is a lot. I'm scared too. We don't know what will or won't happen, but we're up against literal nazis. We need to be ready for the worst... We need to look out for each other.

Some things to think about:

Living in a "blue state" is not enough anymore. Even in Colorado, the governor is being forced into supporting ICE raids because the alternative is that the state loses all funding, period. We're under persecution from the federal government.
Get a passport if you don't have a valid one. Period. Gather your identity documents, and make sure you have at least one extra of the ones you send in. If you mail your birth certificate, have an extra in case you don't get it back. You can request extras from the state that issued yours.

Do not discuss sensitive things over corporate or unencrypted channels. SMS (text messaging)? Silence. The NSA captures every SMS message. Discord? Silence. They eagerly cooperate with law enforcement (it's in the ToS). As a cypherpunk, I recommend Signal (https://signal.org/), though any non-corporate encryption is better than none.
It's possible to leave whenever if you can afford it. Some countries allow you to travel there for up to a few months, and stay if you land a job, enroll in school, etc. If you take this route, be prepared in case your trip turns into a one-way flight.
Asylum may be possible soon. I haven't yet heard of any success cases for international asylum, but it would be wise to be ready. If arrests start happening at airports, keep in mind that it may be possible to enter Canada by land for a flight.
