Ok #Fediverse, my 7yo son wants to be a 'YouTuber' ๐คฎ
I am telling him that #PeerTube and #Pixelfed are the way.
After a year of posting @arthen he has 11 followers.
After a few months on @tremytwr he has 2 subscribers (both are me).
Make a little boy happy and give him a follow let's show him the future is federated!!

@davidoclubb @arthen @tremytwr Omg this is so adorable!!

@davidoclubb I was very excited until I read "A Dad posting original art by his son.".
Why do you need to do this *for* him instead of him doing it *with your help*?

@nik We are taking one step at a time. He's not currently interested in tech other than a small camera. He is really interested in the creative process. I have a manifesto for children in Wales that I'm trying to follow in my own household, without total success...!

@davidoclubb If he's not interested in sharing his own work right now, then why does he need a Pixelfed stream to share his work right now?
Well, your thing, but still curiousโฆ and as a matter of fact, following your son on the Fediverse, as requested in the first post, is not possible, because he doesn't have a feed here ๏ธ.

@nik He's interested, but wants to do it on YouTube which I have a fundamental problem with... thanks for trying!

Concerning that manifesto, it's somehowโฆ strange. It goes all the way explaining how open source and starting at where we want to be is the way, then rambles on about how making a Minecraft server (a proprietary product used to drag children into Microsoft's cloud) is a good thing because it is popular right now ;).

@davidoclubb I got that. It doesn't explain why, if he wants to click buttons on YouTube himself, he can't click buttons on Pixelfed himself. I'd not do that, I'd always go with something like:
"If you want to share your pictures or videos, here is a platform I can allow you to use. But you must do it, I won't do it for you."
