🧵It’s #globalswitchday and so far here’s where I’m at:

1. Helping US people escape the jaws of the enshitified social platforms. ESPECIALLY whistleblowers honoring their oaths of office, whose content will be squelched by the big ISPs, ESPs, and legacy socials

2. Helping friends, family, & peers learn about #ActivityPub and #Fediverse options by acting as their personal concierge to hold their hand through the process

3. Sharing a less technical explainer guide to help them (growfediverse.wordpress.com)

4. Boosting posts that help find analogs for every legacy social option

5. Teaching people about how this is different. It will be quieter here BECAUSE ITS REAL PEOPLE and not just a sea of bots and scammers inflating KPIs! It will be buggier BECAUSE ITS REAL PEOPLE and not a billion dollar VC vultures.

And 6. Helping #Bluesky users understand that they are just being kettled for advertisers and enshitification is coming for them. It is NOT “decentralized” your stuff has to pass through corporate relays which will get expensive to run and thus they’ll need $ and you’re RIGHT back where you started. Enshitification. Data brokers *have already started in BSK!*. Escape. Go to an #ActivityPub option!
