Crazy to see the #programmers and other #developers behind #Cohost now scrambling to find new #employment. There's something fundamentally wrong with people leaving their existing jobs to go work at a company to make a good product that people like, working hard for months or years, then suddenly finding that the company is going under and they're suddenly out of work through no fault of their own.

@Raccoon I have this third hand and have not confirmed, but working with offshore developers I have been told that when their contracts are cut short, those developers must be paid for something like 6 months, with full access to the office and no work assignments so that they can retrain and pursue new positions. It amazes me that we place so little responsibility on our employees. “At-will” employment is corporate welfare. Employees, landlords, service businesses, and families subsidize poorly managed businesses.
