Good morning to readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.
-
It was a time of immense stress: while the Ukrainians were hunting for Russian troops, they were also hunting us – looking for electronic signals to root out where the drone was being controlled from.
-
It hit me: the innovation that is happening in #Ukraine right now is absolutely dizzying.
Advancements are being made at immense speed due to constant battlefield feedback.
Constant invention is being driven by the need for Ukraine to survive.
-
-
We could talk forever about electronic warfare, offensive hacking, machine learning to identify hidden #Russian tanks, artificial intelligence in sea drones… on and on and on.
There might be a niche audience for this...
-
We could elevate smart founders and introduce them to Western defense firms and venture capital.
We could connect the West and #Ukraine, convey the lessons learned in war, and connect interesting companies with startup funds.
-
We could help foreign investors understand the Ukrainian regulatory and legislative environment, and how to help this country rebuild after the war.
We could create a journalistic backbone for business reporting that helps #Ukraine recover.
-
So today, we’re launching our sister organization: Counteroffensive Pro. It will be a trade publication that covers Ukrainian defense innovation.
You can sign up at www.counteroffensive.pro:

This won’t be for everyone.
In fact, the vast majority of our audience at The Counteroffensive won’t want to read this new publication.
It will be technical, it will be business-oriented, and it will be nothing like the human interest stories you’re used to.
-
But we want to leverage our greatest asset: you, our audience.
You might know someone who works for a defense firm or in VC, or who is interested in doing business in #Ukraine.
If so, send them over to check out what we’re offering!

Our first issue hints at how in-the-weeds we’ll go:
1. Customs reform in the Rada and implications for defense innovation.
2. #FPV drones w/thermobaric munitions, field performance
3. Ukrainian countermeasures to Iranian-made Fath-360 missiles
-
It’s our hope that by launching a new sister publication, we can put both journalistic ventures on a more sustainable footing long term.
If you know someone who you want to introduce us to, email me at [email protected]!

#US IS RUNNING OUT OF WEAPONS: The Pentagon's stockpile of weapons and other military equipment is dwindling, resulting in smaller military aid packages to #Ukraine in recent months, CNN reports, citing two anonymous U.S. officials.
US military aid packages to Ukraine shrink amid concerns over Pentagon stockpiles | CNN Politics
US military aid packages for Ukraine have been smaller in recent months, as the stockpiles of weapons and equipment that the Pentagon is willing to send Kyiv from its own inventory have dwindled. The shift comes amid concerns about US military readiness being impacted as US arms manufacturers play catchup to the huge demand created by the war against Russia.
