@Patrickoldhiker I suspect you're exactly right, and yes, she knew exactly how to mash his buttons, and she did so expertly. She's obviously a fantastic barrister!

@kateiacy Yes, a brilliant rejoinder on her part, wasn't it?

@davidsaver I wonder how we can conclude that it's likely not one vote was changed because of this debate.

@paul_aman You'll have to help me see the quote to which you're pointing. Do you mean the title of Robyn Pennacchia's Wonkette article? Because that site excels in satire, a lot of its titles are exaggerated and satirical — to make serious points.

Everyone gloating over the debate like it was something that actually mattered.
We KNOW Trump won't win the popular vote, but he didn't win it the FIRST time either.
Trump was GIVEN the presidency by a billionaire controlled #electoralcollege.
Those billionaires aren't going to abandon him anytime soon. If anything, the more senile he becomes, the better it is for them, because then they can "interpret" his "decisions" any way they want.

@FatherEnoch Please think about the debate in those terms if you wish. I don't have the luxury or time to be mocking and cynical, myself. There's hard work to be done to try to turn back the tide of fascism, and I'm going to use my energies — in collaboration with others — to that end, not to take cheap potshots at people trying to find hope where they can find hope.

@wdlindsy got the habit to look at the hands on images/photos nowadays, tend to be the best giveaway when it comes to so called ai-generated images, this far the #LLM systems haven't managed to create a good hand, fingers the wrong number, fingers has odd forms and thumbs behind objects cut off (this you can see in this "ai" generated image too).
-
@aho I've heard that quite a bit, that the fingers are often a giveaway when an image is AI-generated.
-
@wdlindsy here are some that generated, keep in mind these are just hands not holding things, when holding they tend to just cut of the fingers/thumb you don't see.

The day systems can be trained on more hands, it will be more difficult to spot the fakes.

@aho Good Lord!
I used AI yesterday for the first time to generate some images on social media, and what struck me right away was that EVERY image showing a human face showed a white person. Not one showed a Black person. I eventually got AI to show people at a party, and then it showed mostly white and a few Asian faces. But never a Black one.
-
@wdlindsy yeah, this is a big problem too, tend to be this way when mainly white men develop things. Also much depend son from where images are harvested to load the "ai" system, for some reason image libraries tend to have a wast majority white people.
-
@aho Yes, AI is a creature of those making and manipulating it, and the tech bro world, though it's ethnically diverse, is nonetheless dominated by wealthy white men.
-
@wdlindsy with the M-Pesa I was once hoping to see some other innovations push from Africa, but I still haven't seen something more, sure I haven't been looking either. Sure the Chinese has been pushing on, but that been mainly just on surveillance as that is what the ccp wants to suppress the population. The rest seems to be just white wannabe-authoritarian supporters.
-
@aho You've taught me so much about this field, about which I know so little. Thank you.
-
@wdlindsy I'm far from an expert, just shared the little I know.
-
@aho I appreciate it!
