This is what he said. This is what the man said, verbatim, in Detroit last week:

@wdlindsy @futurebird Well day after day that day's outrageous statement is on my feed, so I suppose something is working.

Oh, the tensions & pressure this next 3 weeks are going to be unbearable... π€― -

@lolonurse I fear so. We have to find ways, each of us, to keep hope alive and sustain hope in each other, I think.

@TheDailyBurble @futurebird It has been clear all along that Trump's ongoing strategy is to suck up all the air in the room when it comes to the media. We collude in that strategy by repeating what he said. But at the same time, we cannot afford to ignore him and cannot refuse to report and discuss what we said, because he's pre-eminently dangerous to us all.

@wdlindsy @futurebird
Well you can meta it. It's obvious that the daily outrage is for the run up to the election and to drown out his opponent's points. It's a timing thing too. I will not amplify trump at this point he spews to grab a headline and social media attention. What needs amplifying is what he doesn't want to amplify, which requires some thought and a bit of not falling for the obvious trails he sets which just goes to his advantage. I don't know how else to explain it. -

@wdlindsy @futurebird I'd suggest (but very quietly because I am unsure) that like all others who aspire to power what he does is a far weaker aspect and better attack point.

I have hermit/recluse tendencies anyway, and I'm finding myself retreating into the comfort food of my being - music. But I know we do need to encourage each other, & continue the work of convincing younger, more jaded people than ourselves to F*^Β₯in' VOTE! (I honestly can't understand how any but the very most stupid of people haven't finally seen through the mango monster.) -

@lolonurse It's wonderful that music feeds your soul and allows you to escape. And, yes, absolutely, we have to do all we can to urge the younger folks we know to go out and vote β as if their future and lives depended on it. By they way, and partly vis-a-vis music, have you seen "White Bird"? I found it really wonderful and recommend it.

@TheDailyBurble @futurebird I'm sorry, but I'm not clear as to what you're saying to me here.

@TheDailyBurble @futurebird I wish you well with that response.

Thank you! No, I haven't seen it yet, and you're the second person this week to urge me to see it! So maybe I'll take my sister to see it. (I resisted, but was told it's not about Nazis, but about kindness...) -
William Lindsey :toad:replied to lolonurse last edited by
@lolonurse It's very good. Against the backdrop of addressing the heinous evil of the Nazis and their fellow travelers, it does lift up hope and kindness and light in darkness. As the friend who first recommended it to me said, "It's depressing and hopeful at the same time." And I think that may be the best we can hope for as we each keep trying to light our candle against the darkness?

Sorry - busy day - Covid booster, cat-sitting, doctor's appointment... anyway, I told my sister we have to see it when she gets back home. Thanks again! -
William Lindsey :toad:replied to lolonurse last edited by
@lolonurse If you have a chance to see it, I'll be interested to hear your take on it. Good luck with all the activities and the effects of the booster. Got mine recently and had no side effects, thankfully.

I always opt for positivity...
but I've got 102.4 temp (much higher than my usual reaction temps of 99-99.4), and I feel like roadkill. Oh well - this too shall pass. -
William Lindsey :toad:replied to lolonurse last edited by
@lolonurse I'm so sorry to hear that. A reaction, I'd expect, from the Covid vaccine. I hope it's over soon! Please take care of yourself, get lots of fluid, and rest.
