I did a silicone casting today and I usually wave a propane torch flame over it to help get rid of any bubbles... This time I tried to turn the torch off and it just... kept shooting flames!
I grabbed a pair of pliers and cranked on the knob but it kept spitting fire. I ended up disconnecting it.
It might be time to get a new torch. (This one is probably 40+ years old as it belonged to my father.)

@rasterweb Could just need a disassemble, clean, reassemble? May find the valves or valve seats are a bit worn, or there is an o-ring in need of replacement.

@rasterweb That would have made a hell of a youtube video if you had been recording

@cefiar I looked at and thought βWait, isnβt there an o ring!?β So thereβs a chance it fell out or deteriorated.

@rasterweb I have an old one that will turn off at the knob but the bottle itβs on wonβt be closed if you take the torch head off the bottle!

@GeekAndDad Yikes! That was a concern I had when it happened.
