This right here is the value of having an open API (and @bardi also makes the point of thanking the folks who help to build TootSDK, as something he built Tusks on top of).

This right here is the value of having an open API (and @bardi also makes the point of thanking the folks who help to build TootSDK, as something he built Tusks on top of). What a great app - I just bought myself a license. #MastodonAPI #Fediverse

Attached: 2 images I made a tool for your toots. It’s called Tusks. No timeline. Just your posts. Made for _one_ thing: threads! Write. Update. Organize. I’ve been dogfooding it for a few weeks. In this time, posting on here has felt like publishing to my blog. More info: https://thirdculture.app/tusks. (Boosts to reach all ends of the Fediverse will be greatly appreciated 💜)

@andypiper wow, thank you Andy. And I’m going to help emphasise your point further.
Your name is familiar. I am sure our paths crossed a few years ago. I actually wrote something about it today explaining Tusks’ origin story: https://www.mtrostyle.net/blog/hello_again.
Correct me if I’m wrong

@andypiper @bardi have you seen the improvements we've (I've) been working on for the API in 4.3?

@bardi @andypiper Bought a licence as well, I have been looking for an easy way to post threads.
Please note that having a nice way of authoring Threads from the Mastodon webui is in our backlog and might happen at some point this year, but this wont replace a nice native client -
@renchap @bardi exactly! there are always ways to focus on specific use cases, platforms, native experiences etc that are difficult for a team with broader user bases to cater for. I always think about users with specific accessibility and usage needs that I personally don’t have, and so I am unlikely to build something that can address those requirements really well (one or two particular client apps for folks with sight-related needs have stayed in mind, from my past life)
