please educate yourself on the difference between "child pornography" "csam" and lolicon/shota (which is mainly drawn sexually explicit depictions of children). One of them requires me to file a report through cybertip. the other i suspend remote users (and defederate entire instances if it's a problem. we do not federate with pawoo) for but there's nothing else i can do (in the case of misskey.io, because that's not illegal there). I understand nobody wants to see either but if you tell me "omg there's csam" i brace myself for seeing the worst of the worst and i have the tipline up to fill out my mandatory reporting. These are not terms to use interchangeably.

I get it, right you see a fire and your first instinct is to shout fire but i kinda need to know the type of fire because if i show up with water to a grease fire it ain't gonna work out. thank you.

@[email protected] that too but I would prefer if people reported this content (either) because I don’t want it in my federated media tab or anywhere near this instance

@[email protected] oh also important reminder! in the case of the non drawn stuff DO NOT LINK ME THOSE POSTS! tell me the domain name. https://www.stopitnow.org/ohc-content/when-and-how-to-file Follow this for instructions on how to report it to the authorities, because you should be sending them the direct links to the content. I just need the domain name so i can defederate I do not want either of us to be implicated in a crime.

follow up on this! someone was concerned that I reported using this form for something on my infrastructure. This was not the case, I was reporting content on a remote instance. Please be mindful of this and make sure that you as an instance administration have read through https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2258A (for us based instances). It is not the same process as reporting content on other servers.
