Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) on 20 Oct, as seen from the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico. (Elevation 9,000 feet.)
The moon is out of the sky and the comet is a naked eye object in a fairly dark sky with the tail extending about 10 degrees.
The surface brightness of the tail is similar to that of the milky way that lies 30 degrees to the left. (Not shown in tonight's photos)
1st image is a telephoto shot and a stack of 25 images.
2nd image is a wide angle view in bright twilight, single exposure.
3rd image is a wide angle view in darker twilight and a stack of 20 images.
