As MAGA *continues * to try and gain acceptance in r/punk, punk fans continue to set them straight.

@hannu_ikonen Wait, can I be punk too, even if I don't do anything "punk" with my hair/clothes? Or am I just "punk lite?"
-
@JustRosy someone asked this in the subreddit & nobody was opposed
-
@hannu_ikonen Awesome! Thank you! I now and forever be punk!
-
@hannu_ikonen Waiting for the first person to complain like "When did punk get so fucking political?!"
-
in case you're wondering about punk's inclusiveness by age...

@JustRosy
Punk is as punk does. I can walk into a punk club wearing a button down and khakis, there's no more than one eye-blink before it's back to more important things.
@hannu_ikonen
The fight against nazis trying to be punk is older than I can remember. They were never welcome, but they kept showing up, thinking that nihilism and punk are equivalent. -
@johntimaeus @hannu_ikonen I'm so sorry to hear they do this! I never realized. I barely know anything about the punk culture myself. I just saw the post up there and thought, "Wait, that sounds like me! I want in!"

There used to be a club in Austin ~1990 that had absolutely ripping mosh pits and 8 hours of loud discordant music on weekend nights. They also hosted an Irish session on Wed evenings until 9ish when the main band went on.
A bunch of older (40-60+) Irish refugees from the Troubles with banjos and accordions singing rebel songs with 30 guys with safety pin piercings getting drunk and singing along.
I asked one about it, his answer was "We love playing here, feels like Belfast." -
@[email protected] yeah really. nazi punks, FUCK OFF

@hannu_ikonen I'm sure you've seen this before, and I enjoy tossing it at them every time they try. As the artist "HE Creative" put it...
