A few years ago, I made a joke on this very internet that my son was telling me he wanted to play Mario Kart, but he promised that he would "go easy on me" because he was "pretty good."

Needless to say, A Learnin' Ensued, Lessons Were Learned, and after about 40 minutes of me smoking him like a slab of ham, he said ok fine, maybe boasting about how good you are before playing the game is ... unwise.

I mention it because today - a few years later and after, he says, a lot of secret practising - he has genuinely, soundly beaten me at Mario Kart for the first and I'm sure not the last time.
Anyway, he's been hounding me for an hour to tell the internet about his (legitimate, earned) victory, and I promised I would.

"I've won! And now the world knows it!"
"You still need to go to bed."
"Fine. But I've won!"

Actually proud right now, no lie.
