@chris I agree.. The problem is we haven't really fixed any of the reasons for which people didn't stick out here from any of the earlier #TwitterMigration so I'm not really recommending Masto as much as I used to. (Which is sad)

Well I'm only on Linkedin otherwise and I'm not sure if anyone had any criticisms about it - in any case it is 100% giving me very relevant content so whatever algorithm they're using is pretty good.As for bluesky, from what I heard I would say, yes, they have listened to criticisms and their system seems pretty good at least in terms of welcoming beginners and moderation.
In the meantime I would say Masto has stagnated. We got a better search, but it is really not that great. We still don't have quote posts. The onboarding system has improved a little bit but it's clearly not enough (e.g. 80% of account requests we accept on our server lead to inactive accounts). People still can't see all answers to a post. People can't hide answers to their own posts. The private message system is not actually private., etc. etc. But I recently learned that all modifications of the main Masto code have to be approved by a single person so that probably explains why everything moves so slowly if at all.
I am a strong supporter of #Mastodon but it makes me sad that I can't even tell my colleagues "join us! We got x y z working better from last time you tried!".
