Does anybody know of a way to filter out non-english language toots (yes, I still call them that) from my Home feed on Ivory?

@andycarolan I've never found a way to do this in anything.

@andycarolan in Mastodon preferences, select English in language filter and you’re set. Direct link for your instance: https://social.lol/settings/preferences/other

@retrosponge I would have thought it would be simple to achieve, but nope lol

@manualdousuario Thanks Rodrigo, I already have that set to English, but I still see non-English posts and boosts both in third party apps and on the masto web interface.

@andycarolan only in third parties? Maybe it’s a bad implementation by @ivory, then. Hope they fix it — I love being able to filter out posts in languages I can’t understand

@manualdousuario Maybe, but I also see them in Mastodon native. I mean, it's a relatively small issue, and not a deal breaker, I just wish I could filter it out as I only understand English (and a few words of Klingon) @ivory

@andycarolan @ivory oh, so the problem is on people not labeling their posts’ language correctly. Mastodon don’t identify; it’s up to the user to select the corresponding language prior to post ️

@manualdousuario Ok, that makes sense @ivory

@andycarolan Could you maybe filter common words?
For example say the foreign equivalents of the, and,of etc which would normally make up most sentences. Not full proof for sure but might help temporarily

@bengillam That's a great idea... I will have a play with some settings. Thanks!
