Surprising to see Propaganda p: Machinery used in a Renault advert.

@bobthomson70 Blimey. I wonder who sees that money. Band? Writers credited? ZTT? Always have to be reminded that the album was not succesful.
-
@emsquared not sure how that works at all tbh

@bobthomson70 All too frequently the artists don't even own the rights to their own recording (i mean look at The Beatles and how Michael Jackson nabbed some of the song rights). Remember Matt Johnson of The The saying he earned more money outside of pop music with his publishing company than in all the years he was at his peak and that Sony owned most of his work.

@emsquared if I had to guess it’d be whoever has the rights to the recording? Not sure if it’a like PRS and such?
-
@bobthomson70 maybe it's Universal. I think they snapped up the rights to ZTT and Stiff records a few years ago. Hope the two writers at least see something but you just never know.
-
@emsquared aye it always seems the publishing deal is the most lucrative part.
-
@emsquared maybe some car ad will use Slow Train to Dawn one day lol

@bobthomson70 give it time. An infinite number of monkeys etc.

@emsquared BTW as seen on FB - Peel’s 40th birthday top 40. Was pleased to see Freda Payne at 10 and the few punk songs I like too - Alternative Ulster and Babylon’s Burning.

@bobthomson70 Ruts DC (as they are now) are still a helluva live band albeit obviously without the late Malcolm Owen.
