What the heck is so controversial about forcing kids to stow their phones during the school day? As if school can compete w/ social media and everything else competing for their attention w/ dark patterns. I'm surprised this isn't more common.
It can't be a shock to find kids actually learn better and are overall happier and healthier when they're *forced* to remain separate from their mobile devices for the better part of a day.

@briankrebs What's worse is Apple is helping them stay connected. The iPhone screen mirroring app is P2P and even if the device is locked in a pouch like ones from Yonder they can still access the devices via another mac signed into the same Apple ID.

@briankrebs I've heard that in Hungary (which has a law mandating the kids give up their phones at the start of the school day) it resulted in kids simply having decoy phones they lock up.

@briankrebs possible that the conversation forces adults to reflect on their own phone addiction, and they don’t like that.

@briankrebs We have seen a tremendously positive response where implemented in our district. Teachers are feeling like it's going back to the "good ole days" when they could actually teach. There is less bullying & fights on campus. This needs to be rolled out State/Nationwide.

One reason they need to ne on is for emergency alerts in the form of texts or banners. A contingency plan for saving lives.

@briankrebs Because I sent a snarky replied to someone who replied to me they deleted it. So to make it evergreen my reply to David was, "Wait until I get RF blocking phone pouches to solve this issue."
