Ah, this is because Mozilla Location Services is dead (I guess it wasn’t AI enough). And now GNOME are considering Google – because, why not? Nothing wrong with Google, amirite?

@aral You seem to be a bit harsh here. What could Mozilla have done to not be sued by what seems to be a patent troll? And what alternative location service should Gnome rather move to? I hate Google, but AFAIK there are no real alternative. Have I missed any? Personally I think they should probably rather not have a location service at all rather than use Google, but I can understand that some might think it's necessary to support it.
