Given all the absurdity that the iOS 18 control center is I don't feel ashamed to suggest a shortcuts toggle.

@yuliyan my pet peeve is that it now takes two clicks instrad of one to switch off my vpn, and there is no option for stand alone vpn element in control center, only as part of the connectivity blob

@luigirenna I get it. Too much friction for something that should be accessible immediately. It is the same reason why I dislike app folders. I wish the screen would notice when the finger tip is hovering over the folder or stack and would just zoom in without the need of a click. Similar to the proximity sensing of the Pencil tip on certain iPad models.

@yuliyan you can resize the shortcuts widget down to one spot.

@Sumocat I know. This is not my point.

@yuliyan What is your point? Your diagram indicates you want to run two different shortcut from a two spot widget, one ON, one OFF. Shortcuts are actions and do not have on/off states. If you want a shortcut that toggles something on/off, you can build that into the shortcut, but the shortcut itself wouldn’t be on or off. To show on/off status, we’d need is an app that can trigger shortcuts from and display trigger status on a widget, which I support but isn’t necessarily on/off.

@Sumocat What I want:
- one toggle
- two statesTo define the states via shortcuts makes sense to me. I am aware that whatever the shortcuts do can be overwritten in several ways. Yet, it would be cool to have a UI element that indicates its state. In fact "Focus Mode" automations are working in the same way. You define what shall happen when the focus mode of your choice is switched ON or OFF. The actions available are 90% identical to Shortcuts.
