"You might think the Democrats’ surge occurred in spite of their posture toward legacy media.

@mastodonmigration You're right: say his name.

@Stoneycase @mastodonmigration I very much agree. I've long been very skeptical about those who claim to be "undecided." In my experience, they're almost always Republicans in hiding.

@mastodonmigration Thank you! I now understand what you meant when you posted his name in another posting.

@crdfilm I absolutely agree. The media are not going to change. Arrogance is their middle name.

Sorry to be cryptic. Feel like we spend a lot of effort calling out CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post for such manipulative disinformation, and of course this is necessary, but we should also place responsibility at the feet of those responsible. John Malone, AG Sulzberger and Jeff Bezos have transformed these three top national media companies into purveyors of yellow journalism and deceptive propaganda. The public should know who is behind this corruption.

@mastodonmigration @wdlindsy It's also a good idea to call out alternatives people should move to. Their audience gives them influence. We can shift that.

@mastodonmigration Thank you. I agree, certainly. I'll try to do more of that as I share information.

It's not a criticism of anything you do. You're work is phenomenal. Just been thinking lately how these guys, and they are human beings, are largely escaping the attention they deserve for co-opting the top national media outlets in this country. Seems like it should be a big story.
Seriously, thank you again for your work here! Your threads are absolutely fantastic!

@mastodonmigration No, no — didn't take it as criticism at all! I'm happy always to have suggestions about how I can serve better, as I try to do my little bit to share good commentary and educate others while always educating myself! Old teachers never die. We just fade away….

@wdlindsy @mastodonmigration Exactly. People that supported Kennedy weren’t Independents or Free thinkers. They were dingbats, rubes and right wingers in disguise.

@lyda @mastodonmigration @wdlindsy A couple of fine English papers that often cover our politics better than our own press:
The Financial Times. Best in class at showing how and why Trump is BAD for business.
Very good coverage of the Harris campaign. Almost daily stories about climate change. They are on Mastodon. https://sfba.social/@[email protected] High School students/teachers/staff can get the Financial Times for free https://ft.com/schoolsarefreeThe Guardian. Also a fine paper. Free to all. https://theguardian.com

@andytiedye @lyda @mastodonmigration @wdlindsy Medias Touch is very good. They are biased and lean left, but they are truthful and being receipts. The Guardian has been hit and miss in my opinion.

@Burnt_Veggies @lyda @mastodonmigration @wdlindsy
The FT doesn't mince words:
Martin Wolf:
...The question arises: are the oligarchs who are trying to make Trump president and JD Vance vice-president, the latter a man who has declared he would not have certified that election, about to learn what it means to have a tyrant as president? Yes, someone who attempts a coup against the electoral process — the very heart of democracy — is a would-be tyrant. So is someone who may fill his government with people personally loyal to him. Nobody then can truly be safe, except loyalists and sycophants....The plutocrats who support Trump may remain safer than Berezovsky. But can they really be as free as they want? Yes, a further erosion of democracy might protect them from interference by the elected politicians they detest. But the men they put in power, in their stead, have a tendency to turn themselves into absolute rulers. Nobody can then be truly safe.
