"You might think the Democrats’ surge occurred in spite of their posture toward legacy media.

"Dear Humans,
The news media is making God go crazy again. Lo, they’re bending over backwards like Neo in The Matrix to help Donald any way they can. Just behold this forking excrement from CBS News…."
~ God
God focuses on a disgraceful CBS headline with a "fact check" saying Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025 (in their dreams).

@wdlindsy They are all doing it. Destroying their country for tax cuts.

@wdlindsy Big Media is failing us the way Big Business has failed us for 40 years. Shareholder value is more important than people or the truth.

@wdlindsy It has come to pass.
What I predicted many years ago and was scoffed at and scolded for. A statement that was obvious to me, but uncomfortable to many.
The internet will be the death of Traditional Television. People no longer sit at home and channel surf. No one wants to pay $400 a month to watch TV.
People use the internet. It's more stimulating, more interactive. And it has many more opportunities.

@wdlindsy But beware, there will come a time that once they realize this, they will try to usurp that power from the people and regulate it to hell.
Domain Names will become expensive and/or require licenses to purchase.
Already in-place terms that block users from hosting on non-enterprise Internet Services will be enforced harshly.
The rich will use their power to try to silence the working class. Be mindful of this, they will try to do this. They did this with Television and Radio.

@spudwart I think Elon Musk's destruction of Twitter tells us they're already playing that game.

@Flowermob Well-stated. A good comparison.

@martinvermeer Yes. As the old song says, the thigh bone connects to the hip bone, etc.: Steve Bannon and Donald Trump connect to Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage, connect to the whole European right, and on and on.

@wdlindsy What I mean is, very concretely, doing a 'fact check' using a Trump denial as the 'fact' to check against. I've seen at least three such 'fact checks' by different outlets. It is obviously co-ordinated.

CNN has been looking more FOXy and NewsMAXi by the day over the last year. I can't believe Anderson Cooper hasn't fled - must be in an ironclad contract. They've eschewed facts & self-evident videos & quotes, all to stay on TFG's good side. He must have some powerful pheromones. -

@wdlindsy At this point Democrats can’t rely on mainstream media for anything the way they bend over backwards to help Trump. Like insisting Biden drop out, and correcting Harris that Trump said he knows nothing about Project 2025 so it must be true.

@wdlindsy @mastodonmigration The only thing less surprising to come out this week is Kennedy endorsing Trump. There are no undecided voters at this point. Give me a break.

@wdlindsy They're certainly already making their attempts.
But the dangerous and worrying moves would be toward the fundamentals of the free internet itself.
Buying twitter is a show of power by trying to take over a pre-established social media. But this will fail. As advertisers flee and no decent person will want to remain on a dead and broken platform. They will realize this is not the way.
If they cannot control what you say, they will control where you can say it.

@Stoneycase @mastodonmigration I very much agree. I've long been very skeptical about those who claim to be "undecided." In my experience, they're almost always Republicans in hiding.

@crdfilm I absolutely agree. The media are not going to change. Arrogance is their middle name.
