"Rightwing settlers and extremist nationalist Zionists in Israel have described top officials in Donald Trump’s new administration as a 'dream team' which will offer a 'unique and special opportunity' to expand Israel’s hold on occupied territory and p...

Christians electing a rapist is a win?!?
Christians suck. They just suck. They are hypocritical asses that just want to tell everyone else what to do.
A Christian who voted for Trump is going to hell.

You ever feel like Franklin Graham doesn't know what religious freedom even is?
-

@401matthall It's clear that it's religious freedom for me but not for thee, isn't it, when it comes to Frank and his ilk?
-
William Lindsey :toad:replied to Sasyecat VOTED last edited by
@sasyecat Yes. That anyone who chose to vote for Trump to "punish" Harris imagined anything other than this happening is mind-boggling?

@lupus_blackfur History certainly offers us many lessons about the potential of religious groups everywhere, globally, to spark violence and hostility — and also to function in precisely the opposite way.

@misomunje So Franklin Graham and a huge majority of white evangelicals think, yes — that it's a win.

@Travler I think the concern Jason Burke is hiighlighting is the concern of Palestinians about what Trump's election is portending for them.
-
@wdlindsy Is religious freedom the freedom to force your religion on the rest of us, Franklin? And do you really think God gave you Trump? And Matt Gaetz, among the other unholy bunch Trump is going to populate his cabinet with?

@wdlindsy you know.... I think I always had a pretty low opinion of evangelicals, and even most christians in general, but now it's reached a point that I couldn't possibly imagine.
Honestly, I just hate them all. I simply despise the people that put him in office and most especially the ones that do it "in god's name".
fuck. them.

@philip_cardella Yes, I know some of them, too, and have found that they're impossible to talk to, because it's not about pragmatism and reason but about purism. Some of those folks simultaneously endorsed either Marianne Williamson or Jill Stein as they swapped around slogans about Genocide Joe. I truly don't understand the stupidity of many on the left who behave this way election after election.

@wdlindsy
Of course. Trump is a rapist, a degenerate, likely a pedophile, completely dishonest, racist, only cares about wealthy people, and a traitor.In short, he is the conservative Christian ideal, morally-speaking.

@old_hippie That's my viewpoint.

@zemsgram Thank you. I second your questions.

@tofugolem So it would appear.

@wdlindsy No wonder all of the intelligent people left Christianity. It has turned into the devil’s work. Lucifer keeps casting Legion into a Herd of Swine. Hurry with the cliff!
-
@wdlindsy although, the "not me! not my church!" people are almost as bad as cops who stand around while another cop is beating the crap of some helpless person. "I'm a good cop! I didn't like what he did" "I waved a rainbow flag, see??"
But you know what the "good christians" didn't do? They stood aside and let this shit happen. They could have made a massive showing and said, not Trump, but those *churches* are not Christian. That those *churches* do not speak for them. That those *churches* teach hate and not love.

@coldfish I agree. I wrote something about that very matter on Facebook just yesterday.

I'm an old guy who detests Mr. Trump, and voted accordingly. I was just making the point that if one wants to garner votes, one shouldn't facilitate the murder of the relatives of tens of thousands of reliable democratic voters in a swing state. The real impact seems, as Sen. Sanders indicates, is that 11 million people who voted for Pres. Biden in 2020, stayed home. Why did progressives stay home? Pres. Biden/ VP Harris facilitating a genocide seems one reason.

@JeffreySmith I just want to be clear on the point you're making. You're saying that Biden is the problem but not Trump? You're saying that the choice to vote against Biden and Harris in order to protect and assist the Palestinians was a good choice that promises to make things better for them, right? You're saying that if people make a bad choice that affects lots of others, we should never hold them accountable for that bad choice or point out how wrong it was? Right?
