@jadp @RuthMalan @czds I’ve done a number of projects I would not have done without LLMs for exactly this reason. Outside of nerds, this is widely under appreciated.

@Cmastication @jadp @RuthMalan @czds A number of my students have been using LLMs to speed code development. It's saved them a ton of time.
When they try using LLMs for writing and research, the results are usually bad and it takes them way more time versus doing it the old fashioned way.
Good for some things, not good for others. LLMs are just a tool with specific uses.

For writing I’ve found little chunks work best. I use transcription to do a stream of consciousness dump then ask the llm to group thoughts and edit for clarity.
