A *significant* fraction of the trans folks in my department in years above me either died or had to leave the department before graduating. Simply continuing to exist and do meaningful research seems like it should be enough for any broader impacts statement

Would the diversity office of the university you are applying for be able to help? -
@elin realistically, no- the broader impacts requirements are at the federal level and at least as far as I’m aware it doesn’t count for anything in their picture if you just ya know generally try to be a supportive member of your community and try to keep fellow astronomers alive unless you do it under the umbrella of a named organization
