News from today; german prosecutor is investigating against the guys who projected this on the Teslafactory for showing illegal Nazi symbolics. So: for german prosecutors it definitely was a Nazi salute.

Because if he cries defamation and wants to sue, stand there in court and give the judge the finger. The judge shoukd either accept that hand gestures have commonly accepted meanings or endure the whole case while you give everyone the finger. So that specific image where Elon basically comes clean as the Nazi he is, is in fact prohibited.

Potentially, which I guess might have been the entire point. The ZPS is no stranger to provoking law suites, and since Musk did this in the US this might be their attempt at baiting the German jurisdiction to take a stance on it.

That said the article you linked says the police talks about having an "Anfangsverdacht" (initial suspicion), which basically means "we have heard about it and will look into it".
