3. There are any number of reasons why women might be less likely to contribute to FOSS, not just safety, and certainly not the influence of RMS. I would wager that the vast majority of FOSS contributors under 40 don't even know about RMS or his shitty morals.
4. Statistical shenanigans and catchy headlines won't make improve the gender imbalance in the FOSS community.

@elricofmelnibone There are many catalogued reasons why many women do not feel at home contributing to FOSS. Many, many reasons. Most of them come down to institutionalized sexism. Some of that is just plain toxicity, being undervalued, not taken seriously, mansplained to, feeling unsafe. RS's behavior is exemplary of this culture, plus predation. And women who made it to MIT or to FSF with the talent to be there were, indeed, not just repulsed but actively repelled from computing by RS.
